There are a number of products that have appeared in the roofing marketplace in the last 10 to 20 years that are known overall as Synthetics or Composite roofing materials. A number of them have already come and gone, but some of them have now been around for 15 years or more. They tend to be on the higher end of the price range, but do deliver some interesting looks as they tend to imitate slate, shakes, and tile. We have installed quite a few of these products over the years, but would consider them as a group to still be “experimental” as none of them have been around for even half of their hoped for service life, and we have seen a number of colour stability issues and other failures for various reasons already. The virgin plastics (composites) would seem to have the best chance of proving themselves and becoming solid roofing choices in the decades to come as they have the most control over their manufacturing process. We are happy to supply a quote and professionally install any roofing product you would like to choose, but feel it is only fair to alert you to the fact that with many newer products you are part of the developing service life history.
